What is an iPod ?

Marketed by Apple Computer, the iPod is a brand of portable media player launched in 1999. Designed around a central scrolling wheel, the range of models store predominantly music media in the form of an internal hard drive. The iPod nano and iPod shuffle use flash memory.

In October 2005, Apple released video-capable iPod; the smaller iPod nano and the display-less iPod shuffle.
